The evidence shows the predictive power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) continues to evolve, showing improved outcomes within maternity care. Yet little is known about midwives’ knowledge, perceptions and confidence related to AI. This study aims to close this gap, through exploring midwives’ motivations and readiness for embracing this technology./n/nAim and Objectives:/nThis study aims to design and test a motivationally enhanced AI and ML learning resource for midwives. The objectives are:/n1. Diagnosis – explore what midwives currently know, need to know, and their motivations to learn more about AI and ML./n2. Design – develop an educational resource tailored to midwives’ motivational learning needs./n3. Test – evaluate whether the resource successfully increases motivation to learn about AI and ML./n/nMethodology:/nAn action research approach will be used, applying a macro-theory of motivation to learn and its associated design model./n/nExpected Outcomes:/nThe study will impact on midwives’ motivation to apply effort and persist in learning about AI and ML as a pre-requisite for further acceptance and adoption of the technology./n/nHOW TO APPLY/nComplete the online application by clicking on the APPLY NOW button./nApplicants for this course are required to upload a PDF cover letter detailing their interests and experiences related to the chosen project.
