This PhD project focuses on the intergenerational transmission of social networks and is part of the NWO-funded SHINE programme (SHaping unequal futures through Inherited Networks). The candidate will work within the SHINE programme on their own project examining how parents’ social network connections and resources shape their children’s career outcomes, and how this contributes to persistent social inequality. Location: Nijmegen, Radboud University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology. The PhD cohort will begin on 1 September 2026 and join the ICS graduate school.
