  • There is no application fee for this program.
  • Secure a potential supervisor before applying. Select your research pathway in the application. Contact the Director of Postgraduate Education for informal enquiries or to discuss your research interests.
  • Graduates are well-prepared for PhD study or roles in industry, including electronics, communications, power systems, and technology development. The department has strong industry links and an on-site Careers Service.
  • Home (UK) students: £5,006 per year EU and International students: £28,700 per year Fees are subject to annual review and adjustment
  • You select your research topic in consultation with a faculty member before applying. The topic should fit within one of the department’s research groups, such as Biosignals and Intelligent Systems, Microwave Photonics and Sensors, Nano-Electronics, or Power Systems
  • A UK 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject. Relevant professional qualifications may also be considered. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall (with 7.0 in writing and no subscore below 5.5) TOEFL iBT: 88 overall (Reading 18, Listening 17, Speaking 20, Writing 26).
