  • Students complete coursework and language requirements, then proceed to comprehensive exams. After the dissertation prospectus is approved, students write a dissertation based on original research, which is defended orally at the end of the programme.
  • Students have access to Rutgers University Libraries and Special Collections, the Center for Cultural Analysis, the Institute for Research on Women, interdisciplinary research groups, departmental seminars, and professional development workshops. Opportunities to present research at conferences and participate in reading groups are also available.
