- Students complete coursework during the first two years, followed by qualifying examinations, submission of a dissertation prospectus, and the dissertation itself. The degree is awarded on the basis of a completed dissertation and its oral defense.
- All admitted PhD students receive full financial support, including tuition coverage, a living stipend, and health insurance. Funding is typically guaranteed for up to 5 years, with additional opportunities through fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships.
