PhD in Marine Ecology

At DTU Aqua (Technical University of Denmark), this PhD project focuses on historical fisheries and marine ecology in Danish waters, aiming to digitize and harmonize more than a century of landing and fleet data to reconstruct historical baselines for fish and fisheries and to develop century-long time series of catch per unit of effort (CPUE) and environmental footprints. The project is interdisciplinary, involving collaboration with historians, museum professionals, social-science researchers, and fishers, and includes statistical modeling, methodological development to account for technological and regulatory changes, and dissemination of results.
