PhD scholarship at DTU Bioengineering, Bacterial Ecophysiology and Biotechnology (BEB) group at the Section for Microbial and Chemical Ecology (MCE)./nFocus: nature-inspired discovery of marine bacterial antibiotics against drug resistant Klebsiella pneumonia, working at the interface of microbiology, chemical ecology, bioinformatics and drug discovery./nThe project is funded by The Novo Nordisk Foundation (in collaboration with the Gates Foundation and the Welcome Trust)./nBased on an in-house collection of marine bacteria from the Galathea 3 expedition. Work includes antibacterial assays against Klebsiella, genome sequencing and mining, elicitor techniques, antibacterial testing and metabolomic analyses using LC-MS/MS and other analytical chemistry techniques./nLocation: DTU Lyngby Campus, Copenhagen, Denmark./nStarting date: 01.05.2026 (or according to mutual agreement)./nPeriod of employment: 3 years./nPosition: Full-time.
