Title: Shining a light on cancer: Using photodynamic therapy to treat sarcomas/n3.25 year funded PhD studentship starting October 2026 based at The School of Life, Health and Chemical Sciences (LHCS), The Open University, Milton Keynes/nProject focuses on developing a new way to use photodynamic therapy for sarcoma treatment by packaging approved photosensitiser drugs into a smart delivery system to selectively target sarcomas, increase drug specificity and reduce off-target effects/nThe project includes collaboration with industry partner Excellio Ltd. (Edinburgh, UK) and a short placement (1 month) with Excellio to gain practical skills and industry experience/nDuration: Three years and 3 months from 1st October 2026 and is only available for UK/Home students/nFunding: funded by Sarcoma UK; stipend and academic fees covered.
