PhD in Process Engineering / Chemical Engineering

PhD project to transform paper and board recycling fibrous waste into 100% bio-based insulation panels using a liquid foam forming process, carried out on the Grenoble Campus in two Tec21 labs: LGP2 (Laboratory of Process Engineering for Biorefinery, Bio-based Materials and Functional Printing) and 3SR (Soils, Solids, Structures, Risks Laboratory). The project focuses on optimizing liquid foaming parameters, drainage and drying conditions, investigating alternative energy-efficient drying strategies, and conducting a preliminary life cycle assessment (LCA). The PhD is part of the PhD@Tec21 Programme co-funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND actions (grant agreement No. 101217261)./nWork environment: access to foam generation & analysis equipment, fiber & morphology characterization tools, drying & mechanical testing infrastructure, advanced imaging (X-ray microtomography) and computational resources for 3D modeling and simulation./nSupervisors: Dr. Jérémie Viguié (LGP2, Grenoble INP) and Pr.
