Overview
University of Antwerp - Faculty of Law: full-time doctoral scholarship holder in the broad field of private family law./nYou work in the context of the Personal Rights and Property Rights research group under the supervision of prof. dr. Frederik Swennen and prof. dr. Elise Goossens./nResearch topics preferably linked to: Gender(s) and family(ies); similarities and differences between private family law and private economic law or between private family law and other (e.g., public law) rules governing the family ("dual system of family law"); family diversity in inheritance law; pluralistic private family law and public order in light of (European) fundamental rights, particularly protection of non-conventional families such as queer families or singles; or another theme in the broad field of private family law. Methodology may be socio-legal, interdisciplinary (e.g. law & literature, the arts, …), or transdisciplinary./nDoctoral scholarship for a period of two years, renewable once for another two-year period following a positive evaluation./nPlanned start date: 15 September 2026. Work location: City Campus, Antwerp./nMonthly scholarship amount is calculated according to the scholarship amounts for doctoral scholarship holders on the pay scales for contract research staff (BAP). Benefits include ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, and a bicycle allowance or full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
