PhD in Materials Science

The Departments of Physics and Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences are looking for a full-time doctoral scholarship holder in the field of optical readout of molecular spin qubits./nYou will work actively on the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis in the field of Physics or Chemistry./nYou will use optically detected magnetic resonance to read out molecular spin qubits; be in charge of sample preparation and spectroscopic characterization (absorption, emission spectroscopy) and optically detected magnetic resonace; and investigate spin coherence times by pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy./nYou will be embedded in a multidisciplinary research group under the supervision of Prof. S. Cambré and Prof. S. Van Doorslaer (TSM2 research group)./nThe planned start date is 1st of March 2026 and the scholarship period offered is one year./nMost work will be at Campus Drie Eiken, building N, Antwerp.
