Overview

There is a vacancy for a PhD Research Fellow in Snow Processes in Mountainous Regions at the Geophysical Institute and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, at the University of Bergen, affiliated with the Centre for Mountains in Transition (CMT). The PhD project focuses on quantifying the role of blowing snow in driving accumulation and sublimation in mountainous conditions using numerical models. The candidate will develop and test model parameterizations constrained and evaluated using field observations, lead a field campaign combining field observations and modelling, and quantify the impact of blowing snow on local and regional scales. Location: Bergen, Vestland, Norway.
