The applicant must hold a master&#39;s degree or equivalent in the field of Health Economics, Economics or any other degree with major in health economics. Specialisation in methods of economic evaluation is an advantage.
Experience from relevant research projects in malaria and mathematical modeling of diseases will be considered as positive
Understanding of East African health systems is an advantage
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a structured manner, while also being capable of effective collaboration with others
The applicant must exhibit both the ability and motivation to undertake a PhD project, under the rules and regulations of the University of Bergen. The candidate needs to be based in Bergen for the duration of the project.

At the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care, a full-time PhD-position is available for a period of three (3) years. The candidate will be affiliated with the Section for Ethics and Health Economics (ETØK). The position is part of the project “Strengthening health and disease modelling for public health decision making”, funded by the Wellcome Trust. The project is being implemented by Consortium of five (5) universities in Tanzania, Kenya, Norway and the UK from 2025 to 2029.
