Overview
The Centre for National Training and Research Excellence in Understanding Behaviour (Centre-UB) is inviting applications for a Doctoral Studentship in association with our collaborative partner Ordnance Survey to start in October 2026./nArtificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming workplace processes, raising critical questions about how humans and AI collaborate. This PhD project explores the behavioural economics of human-AI interaction, focusing on trust, autonomy, and motivation when AI augments specialist work rather than replacing it./nPartnering with Ordnance Survey (OS), Great Britain’s National Mapping Service, the research will examine the early implementation of an AI-driven automation in geospatial mapping and will combine qualitative and experimental methods to inform OS’s phased rollout of AI systems./nLocation: Birmingham.
