PhD studentship (3.5-year) titled "High-Fidelity Simulation of Noise Generation by Turbulent Flows Passing over Flexible Aerofoil Trailing Edge" supervised by Dr Zhong-Nan Wang at the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, UK./nThe project aims to extend a high-fidelity aeroacoustics simulation framework to model an elastic airfoil trailing edge and study interactions between flexible trailing edge, hydrodynamics and acoustics, analyze simulation results against analytical models, and develop a refined low-order model using data-driven methods./nThe studentship is expected to start in September 2025. The successful applicant will receive an annual tax-free stipend of £20,780 per year, payment of tuition fee up to 3.5 years and additional travel funding.
