The Department of Forensic Medicine is offering a three-year PhD fellowship with an initial three-month temporary position as research assistant./nThe position is available from 1 June 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter./nThe PhD candidate will investigate the application of multi-omics data for forensic human identification (HID). The research focuses on genome-wide shotgun DNA sequencing (whole genome sequencing) and shotgun RNA sequencing (whole transcriptome sequencing) to resolve complex forensic samples. The project aims to resolve multi-donor (mixture) samples through isolating individual cells and single-cell shotgun DNA and RNA sequencing, and through bioinformatic methods to deconvolute shotgun DNA and RNA profiles when multiple donors are present./nThe project and position will be based at the Section of Forensic Genetics, Department of Forensic Medicine, University of Copenhagen./nThe PhD fellowship is conditioned upon successful enrolment as a PhD student at the Graduate School at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen and is financed by the Department of Forensic Medicine.
