PhD in Environmental Science

The Edinburgh Earth, Ecology and Environment Engagement (E5) Doctoral Training Partnership offers exceptional PhD training and supports a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary research across the NERC remit. There are a minimum of 18 studentships available for September 2026 entry covering tuition fees, a UKRI-rate stipend for 48 months, and a professional internship placement. The projects span a wide range of topics including Atmospheric & Climate, Biosphere & Ecology, Earth Surface Processes, Geology & Earth Science, and Oceans & Paleoclimate.
