This PhD project is part of the NERC Great Western Four+ Doctoral Training Partnership (GW4+ DTP). It focuses on investigating the potential of seabed sediments in carbon storage to aid in climate change mitigation. The project aims to develop controlled sediment experiments and apply a sediment/water-column model to quantify CO2 removal potential from the atmosphere.
