PhD in Quantum Physics

Research Associate (PhD candidate) position for the Project “Cluster of Excellence Quantum Universe” at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences, Department of Physics, University of Hamburg. Two positions are advertised. /nThe position focuses on deep learning in particle- and astrophysics. Possible topics include: development of unsupervised and generative machine learning methods for fundamental physics; research into foundational models and agent-based systems; machine learning tools for radio astronomy or astrophysical simulations. /nThe Cluster performs research to understand mass and gravity at the interface between quantum physics and cosmology. /nLocation: Hamburg, University of Hamburg. /nStart: as soon as possible, fixed for a period of three years.
