PhD in Physics

Increasing productivity and yield in the manufacture of wind turbine blades is a key priority for the UK offshore wind sector. This PhD will bring together models for the infusion and curing process to form a digital twin to predict manufacturing defects and develop real time control methods. This will improve manufacturing processes, sustainability, and strengthen the UK’s position in the sector. You will receive project-specific training in numerical modelling tools and techniques and in machine learning.
