PhD in Social Policy

Starting date: 01.09.2026/nDuration of contract: 1 year, renewable for 3 years (4 years in total)/nEmployment rate: 100%/nWorkplace: University of Lausanne, Géopolis, Lausanne, Switzerland/nWorking languages: English (mainly) and French/nThe successful candidate will write a PhD thesis on social inequalities in parental time spend with their children and contribute to the SNSF funded project “The Social Stratification of Time: Investigating Inequalities in Time Use through a Swiss Diary Study” (STRATUS). The candidate will write a doctoral thesis in a sub-project on time invested in parenting under the supervision of Prof. Michael Grätz. The sub-project will investigate social inequalities in parental time investments and analyse social class differences in the amount, type, and timing of resources invested into children.
