Position as PhD Research Fellow in reinforcement learning for generative systems in physics at the Center for Interdisciplinary Education (INTED) and the Center for integrative neuroplasticity (CINPLA) at the University of Oslo, Problemveien 7, 0313 Oslo, Norway./nThe project focuses on reinforcement learning methods for generating complex structures with two possible application areas: (i) generation of virus capsids for gene therapy and (ii) generation of meta-material structures. The work involves physics-based forward modeling of protein or metamaterial structures, development of machine learning classification architectures, and reinforcement learning methods for optimizing structures. Starting date no later than October 1, 2026. The fellowship period is three years; a fourth year may be considered.
