Overview

Position as PhD Research Fellow in Soil Invertebrate Ecotoxicology available at the Section for Aquatic Biology and Toxicology, Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo./nThe fellowship period is three years. A fourth year maybe considered and it will involve 25 percent of other career-promoting work. Other career-promoting work may consist of teaching, supervision, and/or research assistance./nStarting date no later than October 1, 2026./nPlace of work is the Section for Aquatic Biology and Toxicology, Department of Biosciences at Blindern, Oslo./nThe project will quantify metabolic rate as a proxy for the energetic cost of living and test how metabolic efficiency influences vulnerability to pesticide exposure, combining targeted physiological measurements with multi-omics (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics) and phenotypic end-points, using springtails (Collembola) as the model system. The project is complementary to the SoilStress project and may include Temperate and Arctic field work.
