Overview

Position as a PhD Research Fellow in Materials Physics and Chemistry for Energy-Efficient Solid-State Cooling at Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN), University of Oslo, Blindern, Oslo./nThe PhD project is part of the CoolCatch project aiming to develop sustainable and energy-efficient cooling technologies for cryogenic temperatures (<70 K) using solid-state caloric cooling and functional oxides. The fellowship period is three years, with a possible fourth year involving 25% other career-promoting work. Starting date no later than October 1, 2026./nThe project includes the possibility of a funded international research stay (3–12 months) and close collaboration with international partners. The candidate will be affiliated with the research group for Nanostructures and Functional Materials (NAFUMA) and the research environment will be located in the Life Science Building.
