PhD in Nutrition

The studentship investigates multidimensional food insecurity and nutrition among community-dwelling older people in Sheffield. It will compare financial and wider risks, identify protective factors, and assess how current services meet older people’s needs. Methods include primary mixed-methods data collection: in-depth semi-structured qualitative interviews, ethnographic episodes, and a mapping exercise. The student will complete a mandatory three-month Research in Practice placement with Sheffield City Council. The project aims to inform Sheffield City Council policy and public health initiatives in the UK. Location: Sheffield.
