High-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables are critical for connecting offshore wind farms and renewable energy grids. This project pioneers recyclable polypropylene to create greener, longer-lasting, and more efficient insulation systems. The research will investigate materials design and additive chemistry, influencing charge transport and thermal endurance. The intended outcome is a new class of sustainable thermoplastic dielectrics that support a circular economy and align with global net-zero goals. The project offers strong industry engagement and multidisciplinary training in polymer processing and dielectric physics.
