Develop and test novel sensors based on droplet microfluidic technology to characterise ocean carbon dioxide uptake by measuring alkalinity./nWRASSe (Wide Range Alkalinity Spectrophotometric Sensor) has been demonstrated in the lab but is yet to be used in-the-field./nThe goal of the project is to explore how this technology can be employed to deliver insights on marine environments with wide ranging alkalinities, with results from real-world testing leading to iterative redesign and development of the sensor./nSupervisory team includes University of Southampton supervisors and Dr Allison Schaap as an external supervisor./nLocation: University of Southampton, Southampton, United Kingdom.
