The School of Social Sciences at the University of Surrey is offering four PhD studentship awards for postgraduate researchers. /nStart date: 1 October 2026. /nThe start date is July 2026 or October 2026 (July 2026 start is only available for Politics and Sociology). /nLocation: University of Surrey, Surrey, United Kingdom. /nStudentship covering home or international fees and monthly stipend. UKRI standard stipend is currently £20,780 per annum for 2025/26 academic year. /nPhD researchers may develop employability and professional skills through paid roles connected to teaching and contributing to the wider research culture within their School (optional). /nApplicants should identify a prospective supervisor and contact them to discuss the research project before applying. /nApplications must be made via the relevant Law, Politics, Sociology, or Economics programme page by selecting the ‘Apply now’ button and the research proposal must state that the applicant is applying for the 2026 PhD Studentship Competition.
