Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) research PhD based at the University of Surrey, Guildford. The project will examine (1) experiences of mental health difficulties and bullying in young people with FASD, and (2) social-cognitive factors such as mentalising and deception detection that may underlie vulnerability to these challenges. The student will use questionnaire surveys, interviews, eye-tracking and behavioural observation, alongside advanced statistical and qualitative analyses. The student will join the Neurodevelopmental Research Lab (led by Dr Moss), the Cognition, Genes and Developmental Variability Lab (led by Professor Emily Farran) and the Cerebra Network (co-led by Dr Moss). Funding covers UK tuition fees and a tax-free stipend aligned with UKRI rates (£20,780 for 2025–26). The award supports 3.5 years of full-time study starting 1 October 2026.
