PhD in Production Systems Manufacturing Technology

The ADD-reAM project is funded by the Dutch NWO as a Research along Routes by Consortia (ORC) and aims to accelerate the transition towards a circular manufacturing economy by enabling repair and remanufacturing through advanced Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies. The programme consists of 15 PhD projects; this vacancy is for 3 PhD positions at the University of Twente, Twente, Netherlands, working closely with Dutch academic and industrial partners and the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing. Research topics include: next-generation AM for sustainable remanufacturing; integration of AM in circular factory systems; and material selection for durable and circular AM. The projects involve technological foresight, design thinking, sustainability-driven manufacturing research, digital factory modelling and prototypical technical implementations, materials science and computational modelling, and validation through industrial case studies and demonstrators.
