The Bachelor of Software Engineering (BSEng) program at the University of Victoria is designed to equip students with the skills to design, analyze, and implement large-scale software systems that are safe, secure, reliable, and scalable. The curriculum is accredited by the CEAB and includes 46 courses (71.5 credits) and 16 months of mandatory co-op work experience. Students begin with a common engineering foundation in the first year, then specialize in software engineering from the second year onwards, covering computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mathematics, statistics, and economics. The program culminates in a significant cross-disciplinary capstone design project, allowing students to apply their acquired knowledge and skills.
