Program Name
PhD in Multiscale Molecular Dynamics
Overview
PhD studentship in Multiscale Molecular Dynamics at the University of Warwick, based in Coventry/nWhen applied to molecular dynamics simulations of large numbers of atoms, coarse-graining approaches seek to reduce the number of degrees of freedom in a material model, thereby reducing computational costs and the environmental impact while maintaining accuracy./nThe project seeks to study the mathematical theory behind coarse-graining approaches, providing new understanding of the size and sources of errors, and will involve both development of mathematical theory and careful numerical experiments./nThe studentship is part of HetSys (Centre for Doctoral Training in Modelling of Heterogeneous Systems) at the University of Warwick, an interdisciplinary fully funded PhD programme that brings together science, engineering, and mathematics to tackle real-world challenges. HetSys emphasises interdisciplinary training, collaboration with industry partners, and preparation for careers in modelling, simulation, and data science.
