Department of Linguistics and Philology, Uppsala University/nThe Faculty of Languages at Uppsala University engages in teaching and research across a wide range of classical and contemporary languages and cultures, as well as linguistics and computational linguistics./nThe doctoral studies correspond to 4 years of full-time work, for which the PhD student receives a salary as an employee at the department./nThe PhD student is expected to conduct studies and research full-time as well as participate in and contribute to the department's activities. Teaching and/or administrative duties may add up to 20%, whereby the employment is extended by the corresponding time./nThe doctoral studies will be conducted within the framework of one of the department's doctoral programmes on the topic of language documentation/description. Projects may be fieldwork-based, make use of existing resources, or make use of innovative computational techniques to gather data. Projects that include methodological and theoretical innovation will be positively recognized./nPlacement: Uppsala, Sweden. Starting date: 1 September 2026 or as agreed.
