PhD position at Utrecht University, Department of Physical Geography, focused on land-surface modelling of mountain hydrological processes in the Himalaya. The project combines detailed land-surface modelling with field observations and remote sensing to quantify and understand the impact of non-linear changes (precipitation pattern changes, glacier shrinkage, decreasing snowpacks) on the mountain water cycle. Outputs will inform a global scale physics-informed AI model and reanalysis of mountain water resources. A personalised training programme (about 20% of time) includes assisting in Bachelor and Master programmes. Location: Utrecht, Netherlands.
