PhD positions at Utrecht University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department Biomolecular Health Sciences, located in Utrecht, Netherlands./nPart of the Ombion Centre for Animal-Free Biomedical Translation, focusing on developing immunotherapies for autoimmune diseases without animal models using advanced 3D culture systems and human-based platforms./nTwo PhD projects: (1) develop and apply lymph node-on-a-chip platforms to set up co-cultures of multiple immune cell types, validate system (microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA) and screen novel immunotherapies using patient material; (2) explore mechanisms of activation and acquisition of regulatory function in stress-induced T cells in rheumatoid arthritis patients, including TCR cloning, reporter cell systems, co-cultures, patient stratification and ligand screening./nCollaboration with Mimetas, Genmab, and the group of Prof Tim Welting (Maastricht UMC+). Enrolment in the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) Infectious diseases and Immunology programme is expected.
