Two fully-funded PhD positions at Utrecht University as part of the NWO-funded Consortium JUST ART. The positions belong to JUST ART Theme Nr. 2 “JUST MATTER: Situated Material for Climate Justice,” and focus on situated material engagement for climate justice, with two specific projects: PhD 1: Material Engagement with Everyday Textiles; PhD 2: Material Engagement with Common Ceramics. The projects are in collaboration with Avans University for Applied Sciences and the Centre for Applied Research in Art, Design and Technology (CARADT). Location: Utrecht University, Utrecht, Netherlands. /nThe PhD projects are part of a six-year consortium led by the University of Groningen and involve artistic research and climate justice studies in the Caribbean and European parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. JUST ART PhD students will generate knowledge, develop cases integrating scientific insights with artistic research, and contribute to theoretical frameworks, methods, educational toolkits, and knowledge-sharing platforms in co-creation with project partners.
