PhD candidate position for the HYDRO-VES project (Hydrogel-Driven Mechanotransduction: Engineering Cell Physiology and Extracellular Vesicle Secretion) within the NWO-funded DRIVE-RM program at Utrecht University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences, Utrecht, Netherlands. The project focuses on developing, characterizing, and functionally evaluating an advanced hydrogel system that enables controlled mechanostimulation of cells and investigating the production of extracellular vesicles by cells embedded in the gel. The PhD candidate will work in a collaborative project between the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Prof. Tina Vermonden and Dr. Bas van Ravensteijn) and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Prof. Marianna Tryfonidou and Dr. Lizette Utomo), and enroll in the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) Regenerative Medicine program. Hours per week: 36 to 40.
