Overview
PhD position on the genetic association between feed intake and methane./nThe PhD is embedded within the Animal Breeding and Genomics group and Wageningen Livestock Research team led by Prof. Roel Veerkamp at the Wageningen Campus, Wageningen, Netherlands./nThe project will use (inter-)national datasets of different cattle breeds to estimate genetic associations between trait definitions for feed intake, efficiency and methane, evaluate consequences of selection for different breeding scenarios and objectives, and translate methodological developments into practical insights for breeding organizations and stakeholders./nThe PhD will work in an international setting as part of the Global Methane Genetics initiative to accelerate genetic progress in methane emission in ruminants.
