Charles Buck Scholarship
Overview
The Department of Counseling is pleased to offer the annual Charles Buck Scholarship funded by Dr. Charles W. Buck. Dr. Buck served as director of the CSUF counseling center for a decade, beginning in 1966 and into the 1970’s.
His generous donation will provide scholarship money for students who are enrolled in the Department of Counseling.

Eligibility Criteria
The student must be enrolled in the Department of Counseling and intends to seek the LPCC or LMFT credential.
The student must demonstrate financial hardship. Students with undocumented status are invited to apply.
The student demonstrates commitment to improving the quality of life and mental health of children, youth, and/or adults in the community.
The students must hold a GPA of 3.25 in graduate level classes, with all grades at a minimum B or higher and cannot have any outstanding incompletes.
Students who have been awarded this scholarship in the past or the Brown-Broadbent scholarship are not able to apply.

The scholarship offers a $1,000 amount, to help you with your studies
How to Apply
Eligible students are invited to submit a letter indicating how they qualify for the scholarship using the above criteria as well as indicating their level of need and how this scholarship money might be used.
Students should also include if they have applied for other scholarships during the Counseling program and how many scholarships were received with amounts awarded.
A copy of the most recent unofficial transcript showing GPA should also be included.
