Overview

SUNY Oswego is distinctive in the breadth and rigor of the academic programs offered on its main campus, at its downtown Syracuse campus, and through a growing number of online offerings. The college offers more than 110 academic options ranging from accounting to zoology, including innovative undergraduate and graduate-level programs such as biomedical and health informatics, broadcasting and mass communication, human-computer interaction and meteorology. Our ABET accreditation recognizes the outstanding faculty, rigorous standards and state-of-the-art facilities for the college's electrical and computer engineering and software engineering programs, offerings that meet industry needs and a robust job market. AACSB accreditation recognizes the strength of Oswego's School of Business, which houses some of its largest majors. SUNY Oswego offers a learner-centered college experience at an exceptional value. Students receive over $80 million in student aid annually including almost $10 million in SUNY Oswego scholarships. The college's mission - to contribute to the common good by lighting the path to wisdom and empowering every person in the college community to pursue meaningful lives as productive, responsible members of society - informs the learner-centered experience. Situated on the shore of Lake Ontario, Oswego is unique in its location and infrastructure. Its $900 million campus renewal program includes living-learning communities, high-tech classrooms, a science complex, a teacher education center, and a fine and performing arts center. Such renewal emphasizes the college's commitment to introducing modern teaching methods and contemporary facilities in the delivery of nationally ranked academic programs. Oswego is also distinctive in its community and global engagement. Oswego sends many students abroad through options that range from week-long to year-long overseas experiences. Oswego brings the world to campus through cultural programming, visiting scholars, online links with partner classes abroad, and academic programs such as language and international trade as well as global studies.
