Overview

At Michigan Tech, our students know that tomorrow needs talented visionaries and new solutions. They are ready. Our unique Enterprise Program lets students work on real industry projects, from launching spacecraft and building moon rovers for NASA to designing advanced robotics systems, developing better alternative fuels, and working with the Navy and Coast Guard to invent water-rescue devices at our Great Lakes Research Center. Students can choose from more than 160+ degree programs in engineering; forest resources; technology; business and economics; mathematics; natural, physical and environmental sciences; arts; humanities; health professions and pre-health preparation; and social sciences. We offer degrees in growing fields such as biomedical engineering and wildlife ecology and management, as well as cybersecurity and mechatronics in our College of Computing, the first college of its kind in the state of Michigan. With an average 91% placement rate, our students land co-ops, internships-and meaningful, well-paid jobs after graduation. MTU's Career Fair is one of the best and biggest in the nation. Outside of classrooms and labs, students enjoy our golf course, ski hill, recreational trails, and 5,000+ acres of University forests, along with a safe, friendly, small-town atmosphere in beautiful Upper Michigan. Many students say that as soon as they came for a visit, they knew this is where they wanted to be. Situated on the Keweenaw Waterway, the campus is minutes from Lake Superior. With 240+ student organizations, including our own mushing, sailing, and fishing clubs as well as the region's premier performing arts center here on campus, there's always something fun to do. During Winter Carnival, students build huge snow statues and play broomball, the most popular of many intramural sports on campus. The varsity sports line-up includes the first varsity-level esports team at a public university in Michigan, along with football, men's and women's basketball, tennis, cross-country, Nordic skiing, track and field, soccer, volleyball, and NCAA Division I hockey. Ready to build, design, code, and lead with Lake Superior all around you?
