Overview

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mining) program at the University of Adelaide offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates knowledge from mining, geology, geotechnical, environmental, computing, mathematics, management, and finance. It emphasizes engineering problem-solving, analysis, and design, incorporating computer-based methods and state-of-the-art industry practices. The program is based on the MEA (Mining Education Australia) curriculum, enhanced with content reflecting modern mining technologies. Students gain foundational engineering, mathematics, and science knowledge in the first two years, followed by specialized training in mine design, planning, rock mechanics, mine management, and socio-environmental aspects of mining in the later years. A mandatory 8-week engineering work placement provides valuable practical experience.
