The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is proudly public and has earned a reputation as one of the best universities in the world, preparing its students for a lifetime of leadership and service. Carolina's newest class includes students who will be the first in their families to graduate from college (18%), are high school valedictorians or salutatorians (12%), are committed to serving their communities through volunteering (74%) and are eager to learn and grow in leading, serving, and working with people from different backgrounds (95%). Carolina offers academic opportunities that prepare students to empower themselves and their communities; over the past five graduating classes, an average of 93% of Carolina graduates go on to start their career or enter graduate school within six months of graduating.
