Overview

The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at UNSW is a one-year program designed for high-achieving students to significantly deepen their understanding of psychology and conduct a major research project. This program is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as a Level 2 program, fulfilling the minimum requirements for provisional registration as a psychologist. Students undertake a year-long independent research project, culminating in a thesis, under the guidance of an academic supervisor. The curriculum also includes advanced-level core and elective coursework, covering topics such as history, professional ethics, evidence-based practice, and contemporary issues in psychology. Research opportunities span diverse areas including psychopathology, behavioural neuroscience, cognitive science, forensic psychology, and social, personality, and developmental psychology.

International Student Award - International students from eligible countries commencing studies in 2026 receive a 20% contribution towards their tuition fees for every year of their program. Can be combined with other international student scholarships.; International Scientia Coursework Scholarship - Rewards students with high academic achievement, leadership skills, and extracurricular activities. Recipients receive either full tuition fee support for the minimum duration of their program or a AUD 20,000 contribution each year towards tuition fees.; UNSW College Academic Award (AUD 10,000) - Students who successfully complete a UNSW College Foundation Studies program and plan to study a UNSW bachelor's degree are automatically considered for this award, which provides a once-off payment towards tuition fees.; Indian students future of change scholarships - Ranging from USD 5,000 to USD 10,000, including a full cost remission for a Bengaluru medical PG, a two-year public health study.
