Overview

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering program at Florida International University, offered through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is accredited by ABET. The curriculum provides a strong background in interrelated sub-disciplines of Civil Engineering with fundamental core subjects, meeting the State of Florida's articulation policy and equipping graduates for professional engineering licensure. Core courses cover areas such as Construction, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Surveying, Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, and Water Resources Engineering. Students must also complete CGN4980 or pass the state FE (EIT) examination.
