Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Law and Accounting is a comprehensive joint honours degree, providing students with a full law degree and a full accounting degree. The program spans four years, with the initial semesters focusing on core subjects in Law, Accounting, Economics, Taxation, and Mathematics. A distinctive feature is the eight-month Cooperative Education period in the third year, offering invaluable practical work experience. In the final year, students return to campus to continue with advanced Law and Accounting subjects, with the flexibility to specialize further through elective modules in Law, Accounting, or a combination of both. Students also have the option to undertake a Final Year Project. This degree is designed to meet professional accreditation requirements, potentially serving as an approved law degree for King's Inns entrance examinations and covering core subjects for the Law Society of Ireland Final Examination, Part I. Graduates may also qualify for exemptions from major professional accounting bodies such as Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), ACCA, CPA, CIMA, and the Institute of Taxation in Ireland (ITI).
