Overview

The Bachelor of Music Therapy program at Capilano University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to become music therapists. The program focuses on a balance between theory and practice, incorporating both didactic and experiential learning. It combines music, psychology, and therapy to support emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. The curriculum includes training in theory, ear training and sight singing, music and jazz history, improvisation, counseling and interpersonal skills, psychology, and an understanding of music and the creative arts. Students will engage in practicums and classroom learning to design, implement, and evaluate treatment programs.
