Overview

The Indigenous Governance and Business Management (IGBM) program at the University of Lethbridge is a unique collaboration between the Dhillon School of Business and the Department of Indigenous Studies. This program is designed to equip both Indigenous and non-Indigenous graduates with essential leadership and managerial skills. Students gain significant insight into Indigenous historical, political, legal, and economic issues, combined with strong business acumen. Graduates are prepared for impactful roles in band administration, the not-for-profit sector, Indigenous liaison work, federal and international relations, and various industries like oil and gas, agriculture, or entrepreneurial ventures. The program also offers co-operative education opportunities, allowing students to gain valuable paid work experience before graduation.
