Overview

The Ecological Restoration (ERES) BSc Honours degree at Trent University is designed to meet the knowledge requirements of the international Society for Ecological Restoration, allowing students to become a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner In-Training upon graduation. The program is accredited by ECO Canada. The curriculum combines foundational courses in ecology, environmental chemistry, soil science, and hydrology with applied studies in resource conservation, environmental policy, and restoration ecology. Students gain expertise in sampling design, data management, field techniques, GIS, and statistical analysis. The program is offered in collaboration with Fleming College, where students spend their first two years at Fleming College's School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences in Lindsay, focusing on fieldwork and applied courses. The final two years are spent at Trent University in Peterborough.
