Overview

The Journalism program at Sheridan College is a College Diploma designed to equip students with storytelling skills across various platforms. This hands-on program prepares students for dynamic careers in digital media, broadcast, television, public relations, marketing, graphics, editing, writing, and reporting. Students gain practical experience in a state-of-the-art HD-TV news studio, broadcasting live and streaming online, and contribute to the Sheridan Sun news website, TV, and radio by writing news, shooting photos, and creating videos and interactive features. The program culminates in a field placement at a Canadian broadcaster, website, newspaper, or magazine during the final semester. Graduates also have the opportunity for advanced entry into the Bachelor of Journalism program at Toronto Metropolitan University, allowing them to complete their degree in just over two years.
